Davies Turner, a leading UK freight forwarder and logistics provider, is relocating one of its key regional distribution centers to a new state of the art facility in Cumbernauld.
Derek Craig, Davies Turner’s manager in Central Scotland said: “This is a much needed expansion of our surface freight operations in Scotland as our existing depot was already working to full capacity.”
All existing surface freight operations are being moved to the nearby site, which is located at the M73/A80 junction – between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Last year, Davies Turner Air Cargo relocated its regional HQ in Scotland to a new office and larger warehouse facility at Glasgow airport. In addition, it also opened a new branch at Edinburgh, as well as just South of the Border, in Newcastle.
Philip Stephenson, joint managing director of Davies Turner said: “Now we are fully operational at the new premises, we will apply to H.M.R.C for Customs warehousing approval. We have also installed digital CCTV and security systems similar to those in use at our other distribution centres around the UK.” He also went on to say: “Supporting this physical investment in infrastructure is our equally important commitment to ICT/software development, simplified customs procedures and order-tracking.”
Davies Turner also have RDCs in; Birmingham, Bristol, Dartford, Dublin, Heathrow and Manchester – with a further 16 satellite branches supporting them.
