Toyota Industrial Equipment has launched an advanced 24 volt, 3-wheel electric forklift truck, designed specifically for use in tight spaces.
The Toyota Traigo is available in 1.0, 1.3 and 1.5 tonne lifting capacities and features some unique technologies such as the System of Active Stability (SAS) and AC2 Power System. The Traigo also includes Toyota’s Operator Total Care (OTC) package, providing world-leading levels of safety, comfort and productivity.
To ensure the highest levels of safety, SAS actively protects the driver and also reduces the risk of damaged goods. SAS features also include automatic fork-levelling and active mast control, making operation of this machine simple and easy. It also reduces the forward tilt angle when lifting heavy loads high, thus aiding safe operation.
The Traigo significantly improves reliability and maintenance costs through the AC2 Power System, which combines a compact AC motor and sophisticated controller to offer powerful precise control, with more compact and less complex components. The system provides greater acceleration and more lifting performance compared to conventional trucks.
An exclusive 3-mode Power Select function offers ‘standard’, ‘power’ and ‘high power’ modes for material handling speeds. ‘Standard’ power maximises the operating time from the battery and ‘High Power’ mode gives maximum productivity compared to standard mode, but reduces overall operating time on one battery. Productivity can be further enhanced by addition of the optional horizontal battery exchange system which allows the battery to be rolled off the truck sideways. This system makes the battery changing process quicker, simpler and safer.
Dave Moore, national customer and sales support manager said: “In addition to Toyota’s advanced technology, the Traigo benefits from very compact dimensions. This means it can navigate more effectively in very tight production areas and efficiently rack and stack products in narrow operating aisles.” He also goes on to say: “Flexible enough to be used inside and outside the Traigo is ideal for smaller operations that use a truck infrequently and for light applications.”
