Geoff Newton, chief executive of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport has left the institute after little more than a year in the job.
The institute said he had left to pursue other opportunities. “He had played an important role in helping the Institute to develop and implements number of initiatives which were important to the success of the CILT (UK).” said chairman Stephen Rinsler.
Newton spent almost 30 years with Marks & Spencer, becoming supply chain and operations executive for the M & S Food Group, before leaving in 2000 to join the P&O Group as group director of procurement and the supply chain.
The CILT is now looking for a new chief executive to be based either in London or Corby.
