Is your supply chain outperforming your competition? Then it must be time to enter the European Supply Chain Excellence Awards 2013.
The increase in online shopping has changed the retail industry for good and this year’s European Supply Chain Excellence Awards judges will be looking at how the companies nominated for the Retail & E-Tail award have dealt with this.
The Awards are now open for entries.
For 2013 we have put more focus on the Industry Sector Awards, which look at performance right across a supply chain. We have increased the number of categories from five to eight.
Healthcare and the pharmaceuticals industry play a critical role in people’s lives and the organisations supplying their products are increasingly looking for innovative and modern solutions to get the best out of their supply chains, enabling them to support patients more effectively.
The European Supply Chain Excellence Awards will recognise achievements in this area with a new industry sector award, Health & Pharmaceuticals.
The European Supply Chain Excellence Awards are organised by Supply Chain Standard in partnership with PwC, and are unique in the depth of analysis involved in the judging process, which in turn makes them uniquely worth winning.
The winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony at the Park Lane Hilton in London on Wednesday 6th November.
The expansion of the Industry Sector categories is not the only change to the Awards this year.
Changes to the Special categories put more focus on key supply chain disciplines. Rather than a separate “innovation” category more emphasis has been put on innovation in all the Special categories.
We have introduced a number of new Awards, including “Rising Star” to recognise someone who is increasingly setting the supply chain world alight with their work but would otherwise not be recognised as a known quantity. There will also be an Award for Small and Medium sized Enterprises – to recognise an entry from a company that is extra special given the size of the organisation.
The 2012 awards broke all records – more entries, and more companies making it to the shortlist than ever before reflecting the strength of the entries. And comedian Ed Byrne presented the Awards in front of an audience of some 550 industry leaders.
Danone Baby Nutrition took the top prize in the 2012 European Supply Chain Excellence Awards in partnership with PwC beating off stiff competition from JCB, Nokia Siemens Networks, British Gas, and Boots.
Announcing the winner, Johnathon Marshall, partner at PwC, told guests: “In the end there was one organisation that stood out when we looked across all five core disciplines. This organisation follows in the footsteps of our previous winners in demonstrating how the supply chain can be used to create genuine competitive advantage.”
What the 2012 winners said:
»“It’s absolutely brilliant that it’s been recognised, because it just changes everything…. We’re flattered and surprised to have won because we look & feel so different to a standard supply chain. It’s great, we’re thrilled.” Trina Curry, Danone Baby Nutrition.
»“We are overwhelmed, really, really pleased, it’s very unexpected.” Gavin Murdoch, Tradeteam.
» “This is a milestone in the journey to be honest, this just takes us to the next level.” Bill Nesbitt, BSkyB.
