Cert, a bonded warehousing, distribution and contract packing operator, has won a multi-million pound contract to be Red Bull’s logistics partner in the UK.
Cert will manage the warehousing and distribution of Red Bull UK’s portfolio of drinks to; major retailers, wholesalers, buying groups and Cash and Carries throughout the UK and Ireland.
The contract will be based at Cert’s 130,000 sq ft bonded, shared user distribution centre in Leicester. With product arriving from Austria, orders are downloaded via EDI, picked and distributed using the Cert UK transport network. Some 11 million cases will be distributed during 2006.
Commenting on the decision to appoint Cert, Rodney Bartlett, UK logistics operations manager at Red Bull UK, said: “Following detailed negotiations, Red Bull UK has decided to award its UK logistics contract to Cert…Cert will offer the dynamics that will not only provide a robust supply chain infrastructure, but also the added value of complementing Red Bull’s UK growth plans.”
