Peter Hendy, who took over as London transport commissioner at the beginning of February, is to deliver the keynote address at the Freight Transport Association’s London Freight Summit 2006.
The event which brings together local authorities, regulatory bodies, vehicle manufacturers and vehicle operators, will look at many current issues and will feature the London Freight Plan. It will be held at the London Hilton Park Lane and is sponsored by Transport for London (TfL).
Hendy, who is the chairman of the Commision for Integrated Transport and formerly managing director of Surface Transport at TfL, will speak on ‘Delivering a plan for reliable and sustainable freight in London’.
The summit will be chaired by John Humphreys and speakers come from Westminster City Council, the Association of London Government, Port of London Authority, DHL Express, John Lewis, Arup, EWS, UPS Ltd and Volvo Trucks.
