Zebra Technologies, supplier of printing solutions for compliance and business improvement, has introduced the QL Plus mobile printer, an enhanced version of Zebra’s QL series.
Zebra says that the new QL Plus printer delivers increased levels of wireless security and processes complex applications up to four times faster. The printer is aimed at the secure transfer of encrypted data, from price lists and shipping schedules to customer information and medical records.
Rod Rodericks, managing director for Zebra Technologies in EMEA said: “When it comes to sensitive data, a wireless network is only as secure as its weakest device. Zebra¹s QL Plus helps companies protect their networks by providing the latest advanced network security protocols, encryption, and mutual authentication, including VPN (virtual private network) and WPA (Wi-Fi protected access) as well as EAP-TLS and future protocols that may emerge. Without advanced encryption protocols, any system is vulnerable to hackers.”
“We’re already working with companies such as Tesco, TNT and Carlsberg to improve efficiency by incorporating mobile wireless printers into the supply chain. We’re looking forward to working with more European organisations to improve smarter working with mobile technology innovation.”
In addition to its advanced security features, the new QL Plus series is equipped with a high-speed, 32-bit processor and a large memory capacity for printing complex formats and fonts, such as Kanji (Japanese characters) as well as other Asian character sets.
