Kuehne and Nagel has won a five-year contract to manage national spare parts warehousing for Japanese car-maker Toyota.
Operating out of the new Cuautitlan distribution centre in the north of Mexico City, Kuehne and Nagel is initially dedicating around 65,000 sq ft of warehouse space to Toyota. Services will include; goods receiving, inventory control, pick and pack, special handling of hazardous material and order preparation. Toyota plans to supply all Mexico-based dealers from the location.
Both companies have agreed to implement a total quality and continuous improvement program, to monitor productivity levels and ensure quality of service for the large number and variety of items handled.
