British Airways has extended its relationship with Gist, to manage the receipt, handling and despatch of all of its in-flight retail (IFR) products.
From June, the IFR logistics team will be based at Gist’s 116,000 sq ft warehouse near Heathrow and will work with the 70 Gist staff that control warehouse operations for British Airways’ in-flight services, doubling the size of the current operation.
Gist currently manages the stocking and despatch of British Airways in-flight provisions, such as wines, spirits, minerals, cutlery, blankets and catering trolleys to all British Airways catering stations worldwide.
l Gist’s parent company BOC has rejected a take-over bid from Linde, its German rival in the industrial gas market. Linde is also involved in the forklift truck market.
