Former Lynx Express chief executive officer, David Burtenshaw, plans a new career away from the express delivery sector.
Following the completed acquisition of Lynx Express by UPS in late 2005, David has been playing a key role in the integration of the UK operations. He has assisted the businesses in bringing together the people, facilities and systems. His role within UPS will continue till Easter, at which time he plans to officially retire from Lynx. He will continue to remain available as a consultant to UPS on an ongoing basis.
He says: “I want to thank everybody at Lynx who helped make my time with the company the most enjoyable in my working career. I am absolutely confident that the new company formed by the addition of Lynx Express to UPS will set the standard for all other logistics providers in the UK for the coming years.”
Burtenshaw said he is enthusiastic about applying his commercial acumen to other areas of business and his first foray into a life outside the express parcels sector, will be as a non-executive chairman of IT solutions supplier Metapack.
