Yearsley group has purchased a significant proportion of Celsius First, after the company announced earlier this month that it had gone into administration.
Yearsley have acquired cold store facilities at; Glasgow, Grimsby and Wisbech from joint administrators SM Oldfield and DC Chubb. The purchases have increased the storage capacity for the group by over 50 per cent.
Managing director Harry Yearsley said: “The initial plan is to operate the sites as usual with the strategy of integrating the businesses over a managed period of time. This will ensure that the transition is as smooth as possible.”
Yearsley group is a family owned and run company established in 1955. Today the group undertakes sales, storage and distribution of frozen foods throughout the UK and Europe.
The group already has six depots, two in the North West, one in Birmingham, one in the North East and two in Kent with a current fleet of 100 vehicles across the depots. The capacity at these stores is 110,000 pallet sites.
