Baylis Distribution, has re-branded the company as Baylis Logistics .
Thomas van Mourik, managing director of Baylis, said: “Over the last 10-years, because of general pressures from the supermarket multiples, there has been an increasing trend for customers to work with multi-user logistics companies that can add true value to their supply chain as well as commercial and operational flexibility. Baylis has traditionally been a very successful distribution company but with the quality of employees and the investment we are making in the business we are ensuring we remain at the leading edge of the market.”
Phil Shaw, business development director at Baylis, adds: “We have set our sights on working with food, drink and FMCG manufacturers, sales agents or importers that are looking for a high quality operation that offers a range of value added services, from primary distribution through co-packing to final delivery.”
Baylis has over a million sq ft (93,000 sq m) of warehousing space across a group of seven distribution centres throughout the UK. These and the new investments in transport infrastructure offer a shared-user network that provides daily deliveries to all the leading supermarket chains, convenience stores, retailers and wholesalers.
Baylis says that the re-branding will take place from April 3rd, 2006 and will not result in any changes to the new management team or workforce.
