Procter & Gamble’s Northern Service Centre opened on the 31st March 2006, incorporating a Swisslog automated pallet warehouse solution.
P&G says that it expects the new centre to enable the company to streamline its logistics operations and consolidate its distribution. The centre at Skelmersdale will handle lines including; babycare, beauty, healthcare and household products.
Swisslog will be in charge of managing the project as well as the delivery and implementation of the conveyor and storage systems, including automatic double deep high-speed storage, racking a pallet conveyor system with dispatch lanes and Swisslog’s Warehouse Control System.
