Cert has created the Cert drinks network as part of its plan to become the dominant provider of warehousing, transport and consolidated delivery services in the off-trade drinks sector.
The network will combine the company’s existing warehousing and hub operations in Leicester; its 700 vehicle transport network and a new 235,000 sq ft stockholding facility in Lutterworth, which will provide additional storage for approximately 23,000 pallets.
Cert chief executive Jeff Stanton said: “We have created the Cert drinks network to provide a strong identity, which positions the company as a specialist drinks logistics provider, with unrivalled depth in its service offering.”
The Cert group is looking to increase the number of drinks cases it manages from 35m to 50m by the end of 2006, with the network aiming to handle some 40m of these by the end of the year.
