GeoPost, a subsidiary of the French Groupe La Poste, has reported a recorded turnover of £1.73 billion in 2005, representing an increase of 6.2 per cent. In 2005 GeoPost shipped over 450 million parcels worldwide for 220,000 customers.
The company says that growth was boosted by an increase in handling volumes in most European domestic markets, particularly in Germany, the UK and Eastern Europe.
Paul-Marie Chavanne, chief executive of GeoPost, said: “The recent acquisitions of 86.6 per cent of the Greek express parcel and documents delivery company Interattica, and the French Exapaq network, reinforce our position as the third operator in the B2B parcel and express delivery market in Europe”.
