Walkers Transport, a member of the Palletways network, is investing half a million pounds in a new operation branded ‘Palletways Manchester’.
Walkers has its headquarters in Morley, Leeds, and has invested in a 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Middleton, purchased 20 new vehicles
and recruited 30 additional staff.
Palletways Manchester will offer customers in Manchester, Bolton, Oldham, Rochdale and Heywood next day and economy distribution services for one to six pallet consignments across the UK and a range of express delivery services to mainland Europe. Walkers Transport now has a total of 125 staff and a 70 strong vehicle fleet across its Morley and Middleton sites.
Nigel Jenkinson, managing director of Walkers Transport and Palletways Manchester, said: “We have worked very closely with the Rochdale Development Agency as part of its regeneration of the site in Middleton, and are confident that we have the ideal facilities to offer the very best in customer service.”
