Pavers Shoes, a York based family-owned business founded in 1971, is set to double in size thanks to the completion of a new £3.5m distribution centre in Upper Poppleton, near York.
The 4,180 sq m (45,000 sq ft) warehouse, which will have the capacity to store 400,000 pairs of shoes, will replace the company’s existing distribution centre in the village.
The move will allow Pavers to open more stores because it will have the capacity to supply them from the warehouse on a daily basis. Managing director Stuart Paver, said the expansion plan was set to create more than 500 jobs.
