Palletways Group has launched Palletways Iberia, its first distribution network in Spain.
The joint venture between Palletways Group and Transportes Campillo will offer a 24 hour delivery service for small palletised consignments from all around the country, as well as an economy 48 hour service.
Palletways said that the new network is modelled on the company’s existing operations in the UK and mainland Europe. It will initially comprise 25 established independent logistics providers, who will operate under the Palletways brand and combine each others’ resources to distribute 1-6 pallet consignments from a central hub operation in Guadalajara.
Luis Zubialde, the newly appointed managing director of Palletways Iberia said: “We believe that we have identified a major gap in the logistics marketplace in Spain and therefore we are predicting significant demand for our range of services.”
Zubialde went on to say that their aim was to handle 1000 pallets each day by the end of their first year.
