sbh.uk’s specialist warehouse and industrial rent review team has saved drinks giant Diageo more than £5m in rent over five years on a 350,000 sq ft former distribution centre.
sbh.uk had negotiated £890,000 pa reduction from the landlord’s asking rental, but was convinced that the landlord’s final offer was too high and recommended referring the matter to an arbitrator who awarded further savings of £185,000 pa, bringing the total reduction to £1,075,000 pa.
Andy Melvin of sbh.uk said: “It was our detailed knowledge of distribution buildings and the distribution market that saved the client the last £185,000 pa.”
Diageo’s David Carter said: “With such large sums at stake we need expert advice and by involving sbh.uk from the early stages, they were able to use all their experience to achieve a quite exceptional result for us.”
