The Cold Storage and Distribution Federation (CSDF) has gained Climate Change Agreement (CCA) for the temperature controlled storage industry.
The CSDF has gained the agreement from DEFRA and HM Revenue and Customs, for a CCA for the UK temperature controlled storage industry. It is thought that this will enable operators of frozen or chilled storage and ice manufacturers an 80 per cent reduction in the Climate Change Levy on their energy bills.
CSDF chief executive, John Hutchings, said: “The CCA comes as some welcome relief for the temperature controlled storage sector that has been hit hard by the escalation in energy costs over recent years. It also re-dresses the imbalance with food manufacturers who have been receiving a CCL discount for some 5 years”.
