Linde AG is rebranding its materials handling division, in preparation for its sale.
The new independent holding company known as Kion group, will consist of Linde AG’s three brands; Linde, Still and OM.
Professor Wolfgang Reitzle, president and chief executive officer of Linde AG, said that as an independent company, the materials handling business could receive greater focus. “By focussing on a clearly-defined business area, it will be possible to bundle strengths even more efficiently and to better extract the potential of the individual brands.”
The word “Kion” is taken from the East African Massai language. ‘Kion(gozi)’ means “Take the leadership”. Linde AG said: “This expresses a core principle of the Kion Group.”
It said: “Global market leadership is our goal.” Linde AG has also recently merged with BOC group creating a leading industrial gases and engineering company. The new group will trade under the name of ‘The Linde Group’, with an expected annual turnover of around £8.6bn, employing some 53,000 staff worldwide.
