Ian Harbour has been appointed the new general manager of Culina’s Milton Keynes distribution centre. Harbour was promoted from supply chain development manager.
Harbour’s experience includes stock logistics management at the Somerfield supermarket chain. He said: “The Milton Keynes operation is very successful and I am determined to build on this solid platform.” He will report directly to Culina’s managing director, Rien Brakel.
Charles Watt has been elected national chairman for the UKWA. He succeeds Duncan Pannell who has now completed two terms at the head of the association. Watt is the managing director and principal shareholder of Lowestoft-based Store-It-All. The company operates 50,000 sq ft of warehousing and provides a 24/7 just-in-time stock storage and delivery service. Before establishing Store-It-All, Watt held a number of roles in sectors as diverse as banking, building supplies, the hospitality industry and the provision of care for the elderly.
Rebecca Jenkins and Andy Haines have been appointed vice presidents of the FTA. Jenkins has been managing director of the Lane Group, based in Bristol, since 1989 and joined the FTA National Executive Board in April 2003.
She previously worked for the company in an operational and sales capacity. She is a board member of Skills for Logistics and has been a nominee for the prestigious Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of the Year award. Haines is head of logistics for Tate & Lyle Sugars Europe. He joined United Molasses in 1979 and as an area manager, looked after many of its trading and operational interests in the Middle East, eastern, southern and west Africa and Brazil. In 1991 he moved to United Storage as managing director. He joined the FTA National Executive Board in April 2004.
The Ramage Group has made two new appointments to the group’s distribution business.
Craig Rattray has been appointed as group finance director. He has a track record of experience in the transport and logistics sector in addition to private equity and corporate finance experience. The group’s recycling business, meanwhile, has appointed Mike Brown, formerly chief executive of Smurfit Recycling, as non-executive director.
Tim Holtby has been appointed a director of operations, for UK Pallets, the palletised distribution arm of Business Post Group.
