Purple Foodservice Solutions has won a contract with the Ministry of Defence, to distribute its global food supplies, worth £150m per year.
The contract will include the distribution of 1,500 ambient, fresh, chilled and frozen product lines to 1,200 military locations, including operational and exercise locations, and HM ships and submarines around the world.
Purple Foodservice Solutions is made up from DBC Foodservice, Supreme Foodservice and the Vestey Group. DBC will provide the UK distribution, while Supreme will handle the overseas depot locations. Vestey will be a major supplier of meat and poultry.
