BA World Cargo has unveiled a new £15m premium handling facility at London Heathrow. The new transit shed, called Premia, is expected to begin full operations this month.
BA says the 7,200 sq m (77,000 sq ft) facility, will give them 67 per cent greater capability to handle premium freight. Premia will handle three new services: Prioritise, a new express product promising a performance guarantee of a 50 per cent refund if freight fails to travel as booked; Constant Climate, a temperature-controlled product; and BA’s new airmail service.
Gareth Kirkwood, managing director of BA World Cargo, said that the project was the culmination of ten years hard work.
