KN Drinks Logistics has taken delivery of 149 Iveco Stralis Active Time tractors – thought to be the UK’s single largest order for a retail customer.
The new trucks will join KN Drinks’ fleet of 550 and will be dedicated to bulk movement from production sites to ten regional distribution centres, as well as to large multiples retailers.
Ewan McGregor, regional operations director for KN Drinks Logistics, said the order followed an evaluation of vehicles from a number of different manufacturers.
“Iveco was set a kerb weight target of 7,900kg per tractor unit which they beat by 100kg, providing a healthy payload advantage.”
The units will operate primarily with 13.6m tri-axle curtainside trailers.
