Transport refrigeration specialist Thermo King is launching its new temperature management and communication product – TracKing at the IAA show in Hanover. TracKing is a web-based product powered by GPRS technology. For a flat monthly fee it can provide large volumes of temperature data real time from a Thermo King refrigeration unit as well as give fleet managers positioning data on their vehicles using GPS technology.
TracKing can provide temperature information of the cargo as often as the customer wants. Customers can also download temperature history from the Thermo King data loggers over the air. It allows 2-way communication with the SR2 controller of the Thermo King SL-400 trailer refrigeration unit.
Real time SMS and E-mail alarms warn fleet managers about temperature anomalies, unit failures, reefer fuel level (optional) and driver behaviour. This leads to load integrity, less downtime and increased operational transparency, helping transporters and fleet owners lower operating and insurance costs and better manage their fleets.
