Developer Brixton has finally secured planning permission for the UK’s first multi-storey warehouse.
The X2 warehouse development on a 6.5 acre site on the Great South West Road in Hatton Cross will total 241,000 sq ft and will have full HGV access to the upper floors. Development is expected to start in December.
The scheme was refused permission initially over concerns about its height as well as other transport, renewable energy and environmental issues. These have now all been addressed satisfactorily.
Tim Wheeler, chief executive of Brixton said: “The multi-storey warehouse concept has much to offer both business and – through greater efficiency of land use – the wider community. We think Hillingdon appreciate this and are hopefully encouraged to be at the forefront of this innovative concept. Letting agents are CB Richard Ellis and King Sturge.
