APL Logistics has been awarded a contract to provide intercontinental logistics services to porcelain and glass producer Waterford Wedgwood.
The contract covers all UK imports and exports to worldwide markets for the group’s Wedgwood and Royal Doulton brands and has been concluded after trials of APL Logistics’ services by Waterford Wedgwood.
APL Logistics was appointed the China-UK logistics provider following Waterford Wedgwood’s acquisition of Royal Doulton early last year. A series of trials of APL’s services, including its Vendor Management Services in China as well as its warehousing, cargo consolidation, packaging and labelling capabilities resulted in the award of the current contract.
Karen Chawner, Waterford Wedgwood’s international freight and trade manager, said: “We have been impressed by the service we have experienced with our trial shipments and look forward to this being extended through our global supply chain.”
