By wpengineTesco is to run three quarters of its distribution fleet on 50 per cent bio-diesel from January.
It reckons its 2,000 strong fleet will be the first in the UK to use the B50 blend, which is half diesel and half bio-ethanol fuel.
The retailer hopes to cut its whole-life greenhouse emissions by over 70,000 tonnes per year – enough to fill more than 15,000 swimming pools.
