Renault has released bio-fuel versions of the Trafic and Master vans, but wants incentives on the fuel before launching them in the UK. The vans both run on B30 bio-diesel which consists of diesel and 30 per cent bio-diesel.
Renault has released the trucks in France and says UK sales are being considered for 2007 if the government makes it an attractive purchase proposition and the availability of biofuels continues to expand.
A spokesman said: “Lowered tax level and increased fuel availability would certainly boost demand for such products among our customers, although we wouldn’t necesssarily rule out offering them in the current climate, provided we thought there was sufficient interest to make it profitable for us to do so.”
