The great, great grandson of Schmitz Cargobull founder Melchior Schmitz has become managing director of the UK business at Harelaw near Sunderland.
Andreas Schmitz previously headed the Spanish subsidiary. His father, Dr Heinz Schmitz, is currently group chairman.
