Sainsbury’s has renewed its primary logistics contract with NFT for a further three years.
NFT will continue to manage Sainsbury’s national perishable operation.
The operation involves cross-docking goods from around 240 different suppliers, consolidating them and transporting around 48,000 pallets and dollies of chilled products a week, to 12 national and regional distribution centres.
NFT will also manage a range of subcontractors, including some of Sainsbury’s secondary store fleet, as part of the contract.
Sainsbury’s also recently appointed NFT to manage its south west primary consolidation centre, one of ten stockholding facilities, which manage and consolidate the in-bound goods from smaller suppliers.
