Marks & Spencer’s food depot in Bristol is to have an RFID-based sortation system from Dematic.
The depot, run by Gist, will have a high speed, cross-docked system using RFID tags mounted on individual food trays. It also includes automated destacking and induction of tray stacks that are received from suppliers.
The system is due to be completed in July.
Gist’s Michael Chambers said the investment “is part of the continual evolution in the way in which we operate at Gist on behalf of our customer, Marks & Spencer”.
