Wincanton has claimed “significant improvements in operational efficiency” in its bulk milk business since it began using TruckStops, routeing and scheduling software.
Wincanton said it needed to differentiate speciality milks from standard types, ensuring it is carried in tankers that have been cleaned prior to changing milk types.
TruckStops helps by planning for this and can plan for collections and deliveries by the same vehicle on the same trip as well as “reload” operations, where milk is collected from a distant point then transhipped to a waiting larger trailer, which is then trunked onward for delivery.
