Briggs has launched Cat’s NR-N range of reach trucks in the UK at IMHX.
The range includes 1,400 kg to 2,500 kg models and took two and a half years of research and development.
The range includes Cat’s 2nd generation micro command AC controller and a poweRamic mast design which increases driver’s visibility and improves load capacity at full operating height.
Trevor Clifton, Briggs technical service manager, said: “We’re able to do with a 1,400 kg model what our competitors can only do with a 1,600 kg model.”
Designers carried out extensive research into the working patterns and habits of drivers with their comfort becoming a key point of the design, he said. “In the past, we’ve seen drivers strapping mobile phones and other items to the cabin with tape. With this model, we wanted to make the whole driving experience as pleasant and as comfortable as possible by making some simple yet practical design changes.”
