Kleeneze, a home shopping company has awarded a three-year logistics contract to Amtrak.
Kleeneze was acquired by Findel plc from European Home Retail in October 2006 and, in awarding the contract, the new owners are retaining Amtrak as the sole carrier for all UK express parcels business and, in addition, awarding it the continental business which used to be carried by Geopost.
Amtrak will be providing day definite deliveries to the Kleeneze sales network that employs 12,000 home-based distributors in the UK. These local distributors supply direct to householders in their area.
Amtrak will be delivering about 5,500 parcels a night following collection from the Kleeneze distribution centre near Bristol.
