Amazon is building a 800,000 sq ft distribution centre in Wales with the Macquarie Goodman Group.
Work is due to begin at the 33-acre Jersey Marine site near Swansea in April.
Amazon.co.uk currently has two distribution centres in Scotland, at Glenrothes and Gourock, as well as one at Marston Gate near Milton Keynes.
It is unclear at present how these will be affected but Amazon said that the new shed will create up to 1,200 jobs over five-years.
The first phase of the project is set to be completed by October 2007.
Macquarie Goodman has also recently develpoed a new 46,000 sq m site for Amazon.fr, in Saran close to Orléans, in the Val de Loire region.
