Henry Boot Developments has upped the ante with the submission of detailed plans for its first major building on its £250 million 200-acre Markham Vale scheme in North Derbyshire. The planning application for an initial 37 acres of development, split over four areas of the site, includes a 577,500 sq ft (62,164 sq m) distribution /warehouse unit which will be located on Plot One East.
The unit is one of the largest in the North and has been dubbed the Green Giant as it has a number of eco-initiatives including a wind turbine and solar generated energy.
A planning application has also been submitted for the development of a 105,000 sq ft unit adjacent to The Green Giant. Work is expected to start in the early summer.
