Culina Logistics is moving straight to Euro 5 choosing Volvo FH-440 6×2 pusher-axle tractor units. Culina Logistics does not operate any Euro 4 trucks and the 11 Volvos on order are the first Euro 5 vehicles to join its 122 strong fleet. The FH-440s use SCR technology to achieve Euro 5 compliance. The trucks are double-shifted and cover around 5,000 miles a month.
Culina is installing telemonitored bulk tanks for AdBlue storage. Transport administration supervisor Tony Pottinger said the company moved straight to Euro 5 on environmental grounds as part of a long-term, company-wide programme which involves scrutinising the carbon footprint of the total operation.
