Toyota launches Tonero
Toyota has launched the Tonero range of engine-powered counterbalanced forklifts designed specifically for the European market. It is available in seven models with load capacities ranging from 1.5 to 3.5 tonnes and offering a choice of diesel or LPG engines.
Toyota is offering a number of packages under the Tonero+ banner, which allows customers to specify additional features in the areas of safety, productivity, durability and comfort to meet specific needs.
The Tonero provides enhanced visibility for drivers when the forks are at ground level, at lorry bed height and at maximum height, thanks to a redesigned overhead guard and mast and lowered dashboard.
The range has a heavy-duty chassis designed for intense applications in wet, dusty and corrosive environments. Electrical components are water-protected and electronic control units are fully enclosed for added protection from moisture and dust.
It also offers more space for the driver than its predecessor as the engine has been move backwards slightly.
The range exceeds the emissions standards of European Directive 97/68/EC Emission Stage IIIa and the trucks are 99 per cent recyclable at end-of-life, further reducing their environmental impact.
The Tonero also has Toyota’s System of Active Stability (SAS), which dynamically protects both driver and load, and Operator Presence Sensing (OPS), which only allows truck operation if the driver is seated.
Life has been made easier for operators who must reverse frequently with a swivel seat and rear assist grip. In addition, hydraulic cushioned forks enable faster, more comfortable driving on uneven surfaces and outdoors.
Enhanced ergonomics are available with Tonero+ Comfort featuring a telescopic steering wheel that can be adjusted vertically to the most comfortable position for any driver. The choice of electronic mini-levers or multifunction levers integrated into an ergonomic armrest ensures comfortable, productive material handling.
