Vianetic has launched VWMS, a warehouse management system designed to suit any size of logistics operation. The system uses a web based interface and is built upon Microsoft’s latest development platform, the.Net framework, alongside Microsoft SQL Server.
Vianetic was formed in 2005 with the intention of bringing a warehouse management system to the market which would strive to remain cutting-edge.
Vianetic says that using a purely Microsoft based solution enables rapid bespoke modifications to be developed and rolled out with minimum impact on warehouse productivity. The.Net / SQL Server coupling has also enabled VWMS to be developed with comparatively low base hardware requirements. While accommodating smaller warehouses on budget-priced hardware, the scalability of the platform provides many inherent advantages including spreading the workload across multiple servers simultaneously if needed.
VWMS is made up of a set of modules which allow a wide variety of warehouse operations to be managed. Vianetic can also provide additional functionality for the particular user.
