Logistics property expert Tim Johnson of King Sturge has issued a plea to government and local authorities to release land for distribution warehouse development to sustain the economy.
“The whole market will operate much more efficiently if government and local authorities recognise the commercial pressures in the markets.
“They need to recognise that the market is predominantly distribution/warehouse led, and sites in suitable locations need to be released for development to sustain the economy. Similarly, rather than forcing landowners to pursue outdated B2 applications on infill sites why not encourage a well planned mixed use scheme which could contribute much more to the economy.”
