MOL picks Manhattan for Czech sites
MOL Logistics has chosen the warehouse management component of Manhattan Associates’ Integrated Logistics Solutions for two warehouses in the Czech Republic.
The company, a subsidiary of Japanese giant, MOL Logistics, initially worked with Manhattan to provide a service for its first customer in the Czech Republic, a global air conditioning company. In the first instance MOL Logistics installed Manhattan Associates’.NET native WMS as a standalone system before integrating it with the customer’s proprietary and SAP solutions. This led to MOL Logistics’ acquisition of a second client, a plasma and LCD television manufacturer, for which the company also turned to Manhattan Associates’ WMS. The two sites, 7,500 sq m and 16,000 sq m respectively, are both located at Plsen, which is on a major truck route connecting Germany and the Czech Republic. The site has already handled more than 900,000 serial numbers with no loss of data in its first nine months.
Jonathan Bisek, MOL’s general manager in the Czech Republic, said: “MOL Logistics is a global company and has a worldwide partnership with Manhattan Associates. The proven scalability and flexibility of the company’s software makes it an obvious choice for a growing organisation such as ours.”
“MOL Logistics is a great example of how a global company can operate as a local business as it expands into new regions,” said Steve Smith, vice president of Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Manhattan Associates. “We are very pleased that our work with MOL Logistics has afforded us the opportunity to demonstrate the flexibility and scalability of our warehouse management solutions and that we are able to play a part in the continued success of the company.”
