The FTA has launched a web site to promote its efforts towards environmental issues including carbon footprint and sustainability. The website was unveiled at the FTA’s summer reception in the House of Commons and was attended by ministers, backbench MPs and civil servants from the DfT, treasury and DTI.
It will feature blogs from senior FTA staff, and examples of corporate social responsibility by its members.
FTA President Andy Haines, said: “We are taking our arguments to politicians directly and explaining how the freight industry is not only delivering the goods and services which we all use every day, but is carrying out the job in an efficient, safe and increasingly environmentally responsible way.”
