Linpac has won a contract to provide Invensys (Controls Europe) with a storage system to increase the company’s warehouse efficiency by maximising space utilisation and speeding up picking operations at its Plymouth site. Invesys, global provider of components, systems and services for heating, air conditioning/cooling, refrigeration, safety and appliance industries, previously relied on pallet racking which took up half of the floor area and a mezzanine floor.
Linpac’s system features full height, adjustable pallet racking and mesh decking, designed to increase the versatility of the pallet racking so that different sized pallets, totes or cardboard boxes can be stored more easily. Heavy metal parts are stored on special 2.5 tonne racking along one side of the warehouse.
Al Briggs, manufacturing engineer said: “Our new storage solution has not only enabled us to increase our storage capacity it has also given us an advantage in terms of time saving.”
