Barloworld has invested £1 million in a five year contract with Masternaut, to provide web-based vehicle tracking for 550 service vehicles. Masternaut will be fitted to Barloworld’s entire UK service fleet and will help improve its despatch operations while providing minute-by-minute activity vehicle reports showing time of arrival and departure from sites. This data can be compared to electronic timesheets reported through Barloworld’s mobile palm-top system to provide a fully automatic check.
Richard McKenzie, marketing manager at Barloworld, said: “Masternaut has enabled us to make some important changes in working practices to help cover travel costs and improve margins. The fact that Masternaut is web based has really helped – not only is it accessible from anywhere but everyone has also found it very easy to use.”
Masternaut will also be used to boost the service of the 30,000 fork lift trucks which Barloworld manages for its UK clients.
