3M Supply Chain Solutions has installed a warehouse management system at 3M’s abrasive products manufacturing site at Atherstone.
Kay Jacks, hub manager at Atherstone, said the system has improved 3M’s call-off capabilities and increased automation of processes such as labelling and packaging to improve accuracy, and speed.
“We were able to interface with the inventory management systems already in place at Atherstone, as well as those operated by the site’s vendor partners, to achieve a seamless and transparent transition,” said Karen Vyse, vendor manager at 3M Atherstone. It took six months to design, test and install the system.
