Goldstar Transport installed the Truckcom fleet & job management system for its fleet following a trial. It has 180 trucks operating from hubs across the UK delivering containers for shipping lines.
It was a priority for Goldstar that Truckcom would interface directly with its customers’ IT systems and exchange job information to and fro automatically. Once received by Truckcom individual jobs can be planned by Goldstar’s traffic office.
The job information can then be dispatched directly to their vehicles. The drivers receive all the job information on the Truckcom mobile device installed in their vehicle. Job address details are fed directly into the Tom-Tom, supplied as standard with Truckcom, to assist navigation.
Upon completion of the job Truckcom enables on-site signature capture. An electronic proof of delivery is then available for the customer by email, fax or downloaded from the internet seconds after the job has been completed. The completed job information is then fed directly back into Goldstar’s customers’ IT systems. Truckcom has been developed within the environment of a working haulier so it has been shaped by the demands of road transport.
