John Lewis Direct has extended its e-fulfilment contract with iForce for a further five years. The partnership, which began in 2001, will see the logistics specialist continue to work on John Lewis’ online retail until 2012. Under the extended contract, operations will be transferred from Bromford Gate, Birmingham to a new 238,000 sq ft warehouse in Redditch. The new site is the largest in the town and will make iForce its biggest employer in the industry sector.
Robert McCarthy, managing director, John Lewis Direct, said: “This is an important step forward in the fulfilment capability for John Lewis Direct. Developing further our successful relationship with iForce will enable us to drive forward continuous service improvements for our customers while also effectively managing the challenges of growth and increasing scale. This solution will operate alongside and compliment our other DC fulfilment routes.”
