Minorplanet’s Vehicle Management Information System proved a life safer for a German truck driver who fell ill at the wheel. Using the live tracking feature of the telematics system, his employers were able to guide the emergency services right to his truck. He was immediately taken to hospital where he underwent a seven hour operation that saved his life. The company TVT, of Mollem in Belgium, was alerted by a call from a customer when a scheduled delivery failed to arrive. The driver has now made a full recovery.
